Nick Wagman is a top U.S. trainer based in Rancho Santa Fe.  His successes include winning the Pavo Cup in Holland, the most prestigious dressage competition for young horses where over 500 compete.  He again won the Pavo cup the following year in 1997 with Krack C, who eventually became the mount of Anke Van Gruvson.  Nick won the 1998 Pavo Cup with another stallion, Bon Aparte.  That same year Nick qualified as an American for the Dutch Championships and placed in the top five at the P.S.G. level among Holland's best riders.  Before returning to the U.S. in 2000 he qualified Krack C for the Dutch Championships at the P.S.G. level.  Shortly after that Anke bought the horse.

Since returning to the U.S. Nick has continued to excel and has trained many horses through the Grand Prix level and has participated in the National Gladstone Championships in the top 10 in the U.S.  He has many top level horses in his training and competition program.
