The Gala Evening performance began at 7:00 p.m.

Heading up the evening's performance were Seana Adamson and Kathi Haworth performing the infamous "Shire and Shetland" Pas de Deux to the tune of "Short People". It was hilarious and of course the Shetland, Merlin ran rings around Birkin, the Shire!

Anna Zbitnoff and Amy's Spirit performed their Bridleless Kur. They have performed many times at DWC, and are always a crowd pleasing favorite!

David Jay performed High School Dressage on a gorgeous Friesian. Dressed in period costume, his horse performed many beautiful movements and the crowd was mesmerized.

Jason Richards performed his infamous USET reining freestyle. The crowd went wild as Jason rode a "bull" (in real life, Pride of Topsail, a Quarter Horse)! Jason was dressed as a bull rider with Pride as a Brahma bull, complete with hump, horns, sleazy black suit, nose ring and cow bell; all the trappings of a rank bull drawn for a championship bull ride. Accompanied by a Garth Brooks song, and a real life Bull rider Clown on the ground, the chute opened and the fun began. The crown went wild! There were hands-free circles, spins, flying lead changes, slide stops and Jason encouraging the crown to yell louder! What a ham those two were, and a great pair. As well as the clown egging them on and chasing them around the arena. At the end of his ride, Jason stopped Pride and dismounted so that he could retrieve his cowboy hat, and during this time, let Pride loose!. Pride followed Jason and slowly passed Jason and looked at him as if to say "I'm really the star here, so I'm leading"!

Michael Pariseau rode Willem S., a 9 year old 16.3h Friesian Stallion owned by the DeBoer Royal Friesians, Ontario, CA. Willem is trained by Michael to do the Spanish walk, passage, piaffe, levade and much more. Willem is 1600 lbs. and is also currently known as the Official Mane 'n Tail horse for Straight Arrow Products.

FEI Dressage Musical Freestyle with Elizabeth Britten Hendrix and Disney.

The Wine Country Peruvian Paso Drill Team consisting of six ladies riding thir smooth flowing and graceful Peruvian horses to music .

"The Petite Elite" a precision driving team comprised of all Miniature horses from Arizona were also a big hit. Of course the entire team enjoyed the much cooler weather of Northern California, and were able to put on one of their best performances to date. Eight members, dressed in black, white and red drove order drills with names like "Figure 8", "Diamond Sequence" and "Confusion Junction".

The Petite Elite

Our 2000 Performance also featured the "Imperial Knights", with authentic presentations of jousting, games on horseback and expert equestrian skills. Sword fighting, with actual sparks flying in the dark night, was like witnessing midevil times. The crowds cheered for either the black knight or the white knight, and thunderous "boo's" and "cheers" arouse from the crowd when one of the knights fell to the ground!
